When is the best time for rafting?
For the most exhilarating Tara rafting experience, we recommend booking your trip in May or June, when the water levels are at their highest, offering an extreme and intense adventure. However, July and August remain the most popular months for whitewater rafting in Montenegro, attracting many enthusiasts eager to enjoy the stunning scenery and thrilling rapids during the peak summer season.
What equipment is provided?
- Rafting equipment includes neoprene suits, vests, helmets, anorak jackets, boots, paddles, waterproof bags, and rubber boats.
- The neoprene suits we provide at the camp are professional-grade, designed for serious rafting adventures. Many first-time visitors often wonder why a large number of rafters arrive at Brštanovica in swimsuits. We would like to clarify that suits are not mandatory during the summer months, as the high temperatures in July and August encourage visitors to enjoy sunbathing and full immersion in the river, which the suits can somewhat limit.
- Neoprene boots are a compulsory part of our rafting gear, as they provide essential support and protection. During rafting, it’s important to keep your feet securely under the straps or ropes provided, and your skipper will explain this in detail during the pre-tour briefing. The boots also facilitate easier movement and help prevent slipping when getting out of the boat during breaks, swimming, or exploring the riverbank, waterfalls, and taking photos.
- Our suits and boots are made by leading brands in rafting equipment—Hiko and Aqua Design—ensuring high quality and durability.
- A helmet and vest are mandatory safety components for all participants. These are standard equipment for rafting on wild waters and serve as the primary personal protective gear. Even seasoned rafters who participate multiple times a season understand the importance of wearing a helmet and vest, regardless of the weather or water level. Everyone must have complete safety gear to participate in the tour.
- We also offer anorak jackets as optional gear, especially useful in case of rain or cooler temperatures at the beginning or end of the season. These puffy jackets help keep you warm and comfortable, allowing you to enjoy the rafting experience even in colder weather or rain. Interestingly, many guests find rafting in the rain to be a unique and unforgettable experience, which we also wholeheartedly recommend.
What should I bring with me?
For the rafting trip, all you need to bring is a swimsuit and a good mood; the rest of the equipment will be provided at our Rafting Camp. During the summer months, we also recommend bringing sun protection cream to shield yourself from the sun.
Additionally, each boat is equipped with waterproof bags, allowing you to bring your cameras or mobile phones to capture and cherish the best moments of your adventure!
