Vrazje lake

Vražje lake (meaning Devil’s lake) rests at an altitude of 1416 m. The average depth is 4 m, with the deepest point at 11 m. It has a very unusual color, which changes with the seasons. There are numerous old folk tales about it, stories which our guides will share with you.

Zminje lake

Nestled in the depth of the forest, surrounded by tall spruce trees, Zminje lake (meaning ‘Snakes lake’) is a clear example of the ‘mountain eyes’. It is located at the source of the ‘Mlinski potok’ (Mill Creek), at an altitude of 1.520 m. It used to be inhabited by an unusual number of snakes, the phenomenon after which it got its name, but this is no longer the case. Water is extremely cold, even during summer days.

Riblje lake

Riblje lake (meaning Fish lake) rests at an altitude of 1409 m. What makes this lake especially interesting, other than its beauty, is the ancient Greek necropolis located in its proximity. Called ‘stećak’ (plural 'stećci'), these richly decorated tombstones are under UNESCO protection.

Momčilov grad viewpoint

Momčilov grad is an elevation located 8 km from Žabljak, on the edge of the Plateau of the lakes. The area features remainings of the medieval settlement called Pirlitor, which dates back to the 14th century. However the location is now known and named after Pirlitor’s most famous resident - duke Momčilo, the main character of many old folk tales, who was depicted as an invincible hero with a winged horse called Jabučilo and a sword with eyes.

Mountain Sinjajevina

Sinjajevina is the mountain massif that covers the biggest area in the north of Montenegro and connects two mountain centers - Kolašin and Žabljak. It is one of the main summer and winter attractions with numerous activities that can be arranged, such as walking, hiking on snowshoes, Nordic skiing, jeep and quad tours, horse riding and other.
